Online Alarm Clock

Set an alarm for a time of day rather than a number of minutes. Add as many as you need, repeat them on the days you choose, and snooze when one goes off.

Keep this tab open and your device awake, or the alarm cannot ring.

    How to use it

    1. Choose the time and, if you like, a label such as “Stand-up meeting”.
    2. Leave the weekdays unselected for a one-time alarm, or tap the days it should repeat.
    3. Pick a sound and press Test to check the volume.
    4. Press Add alarm. The clock shows how long until the next one.
    5. When it rings, press Snooze for a few more minutes or Stop to dismiss it.

Read this before you rely on it

A web page can only ring while its tab is open and your device is awake. If the computer goes to sleep, the lid is closed, the phone locks, or the browser is closed, the alarm cannot sound. Browsers do not let websites wake a sleeping device.

After you reload the page, browsers also block sound until you click or tap the page once. The page tells you when that is the case.

So: this is a good alarm for a device that is on and in front of you — a reminder during the working day, a nap at your desk with the screen kept awake, a timer on a kitchen tablet. For waking up in the morning or anything you cannot afford to miss, use your phone’s built-in alarm.

    Questions people ask

Will the alarm go off if my computer is asleep?

No. A sleeping computer runs no web pages. Keep the device awake and plugged in, and switch on “Keep screen on” so the display does not turn off.

Will it work if I switch to another tab or app?

Yes, as long as the browser is still running and the device is awake. Turn on “Notify me” to get a notification as well as the sound.

What if I missed an alarm while the page was closed?

When you reopen the page, it tells you which alarms were missed. Repeating alarms are set for their next day automatically.

Can I set an alarm for a specific date?

Alarms here are for a time of day. For a specific date, use the countdown tool.
