How to use it

  1. Set Rounds to the number of minutes you want (10 by default).
  2. Press Start. After the get-ready count, a long tone starts minute one.
  3. Do your reps, then rest until the three beeps count you into the next minute.
  4. For every two minutes (E2MOM), set Work to 120 seconds; for every 90 seconds, set it to 90.

What EMOM means

EMOM stands for “every minute on the minute”. You start a fixed amount of work at the top of each minute and rest for the remainder. Finish faster and you rest longer; slow down and the rest shrinks, which is what makes the format self-regulating.

Choose a load and rep count that takes roughly 30 to 45 seconds when you are fresh. If you are still working when the next minute starts, the round was too big.

The timer shows a single continuous work phase per round on purpose: in an EMOM the rest is whatever you earn, so there is no separate rest countdown.

Questions people ask

How do I set an E2MOM or E3MOM?

Change Work to 120 seconds for every two minutes or 180 for every three, and set Rounds to the number of rounds.

Can I alternate two movements?

Yes: do movement A on odd rounds and B on even rounds. The round number is shown in large type so you can tell which you are on.

Is EMOM the same as AMRAP?

No. AMRAP means “as many rounds as possible” in one block of time with no built-in rest; for that, use a plain countdown timer.
